CERT Team Deployment Guidelines Allegan County Citizen Corp. CERT Members, This is the link for the CERT train-the-trainer course I spoke of in class in Auburn Hills, MI on November 20-21, 2008. If you would like to take the this course please sign up soon before it fills. http://www.michigan.gov/msp/0,1607,7-123-1593_33474_33485_33487-173742--,00.html In Allegan County if you plan to hold a CERT class its needs to be registered with the Allegan County Citizen Council through Emergency Management. We will permit the use of the training aids, and assist where we can. We would like for each CERT group to outline a mission area and a CERT coordinator for their respective teams. All registered teams with Allegan County Citizen Corp. will only be deployed to disaster area at the request of a Fire Chief through Allegan County Emergency Management and the willingness of that team to help. Four Mission Areas: Preparedness - Response - Recovery - Prevention Our last class was held in Otsego with the assistance of Dorr and Otsego Fire Departments. I have attached a few photographs for your review. I will be sending out official certifications within the next few weeks. I also was invited to the White House the other day to listen to President Bush talk about Citizen Corp. and volunteering in general. Allegan County Is far ahead of the curve on this one, with your dedication and commitment to serve. I have attached a copy of his speech and a link to review the video.
