Thank You From The Lee FamilyOn September 14, 2008 we lost the whole bottom half of our home due to remnants from hurricane Ike. Our family was devastated from the damage done, loss of our belongings and finding out that our Homeowners insurance wouldn’t cover anything, because it was a flood and we had no flood insurance. We didn’t have a clue how we were going to pay to have the home fixed as we didn’t have the finances to be able to take care of what was needed. Scott Corbin (Allegan County EOC) stepped in and started to send out our information to local non-profit organizations. Praise God that Fulton Sheen who runs Isaiah 58:12 Ministries came to us in our time of need and truly went above and beyond to get our home fixed. Fulton, Scott Corbin, Kevin Cronin, Marilyn Franz, Wayne & Pam Watson and their family, Jack Wright, Charlie Rider, Scott Corbin and many others spent hours laboring in our home to get the dry wall hung, mudded, taped and putting in all electrical receptacles in. Fulton even took it a step forward; he went to speak with Rob Cadwallader from the Plainwell Home Depot and explained our situation and need. Rob & the team of Home Depot out of the goodness of there hearts were able to donate all the drywall, nails, mudding & tape as well as assisted us in getting the carpet laid and paint chosen. If it hadn’t been for these wonderful people and such an obedient to the call organization as Isaiah 58:12 our children wouldn’t have there rooms back by Christmas. This is a gift that is more precious to us than anything we could imagine. We are a Christian family and have always been able to give to those in need as God provides, and this is our first time to see others who truly have the heart of Christ and love one another as Christ loved the church. Fulton, Isaiah 58:12, Scott Corbin, Home Depot and all of those who have lifted us up in prayer and came to our home to help restore us we want to extend our gratitude and appreciation. We ask that the Lord bless each one of you and give back to you what you have sown into the lives of those around you and the families that you have reached. Father we thank you for these people and we ask that you keep them and their families safe and protected all the days of their lives. Matthew 25: 34-36 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Matthew 25: 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me. Blessings Abound, Norron, Gretchen Lee Kodie Blain & Sierra Kershaw “I'm Angie DeCook, one of the CLAY youth group members from Otsego Michigan that went on the trip with you July 25-30. I had an amazing time with the teams because it was amazing to see everyone learn to work with each other when we were from different churches and backgrounds. I hope to be involved with Isaiah 58:12 in the future for mission trips. I am going to Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana this fall and hope to make some contacts with others who want to work with Isaiah 58:12.” “In the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus told us how to respond. Our work was coordinated by Restoration Ministries who had evaluated needs based on FEMA relief, insurance payments, personal resources, and special needs. One home was owned by an elderly man in a wheelchair, and another by a woman and her husband who came home from the hospital after heart surgery while we were there; so these were people truly in need. We worked on carpentry, flooring, drywall, plumbing, and electrical work, talked with people, and in some cases prayed with them. The trip was personally rewarding, a growth experience, and well worth the time and expense. We left knowing we had done the right thing, and wishing we could have done more.”
