What is CERT?

Community Emergency Response Team Training

CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. The purpose of the FEMA Citizen Corps CERT training program is to create an army of trained volunteers who are ready and able to help when disaster strikes, whether it be on a local or national level.

CERT members are trained in Light Search & Rescue, Basic Fire Suppression, First-Aid, Triage, Building Assessment and more.  The program is designed to enable certified volunteers to work in concert with first responders in disaster situations locally and throughout the United States.

Isaiah 58:12 has trained and certified over 1,600 volunteers in the CERT program. We have been a part of White House Faith-Based Disaster Initiatives and have built strong relationships with local and national emergency organizations and personnel.

This puts Isaiah 58:12 in a unique position to offer recognized assistance to emergency responders and to aid those in great need when a disaster strikes.

We encourage you to join us at our next CERT training or request to host a CERT at your local church. This is a great way to be prepared and to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need it most.
