What is CERT?

CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. The purpose of the FEMA Citizen Corps and CERT training program is to create an army of trained volunteers who are ready and able to help when disaster strikes, whether it be local or on a national level. After completion of the CERT course, volunteers will be trained in light search & rescue, basic first-aid, fire suppression, building assessment and other areas of disaster relief. Once certified, volunteers will have the skills to work in concert with first responders in disaster situations anywhere in the United States.
Isaiah 58:12 has trained and certified over 1,600 volunteers in the FEMA-Citizen Corps Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. We have been a part of White House Faith-Based Disaster Initiatives and have built strong relationships with state, local and national emergency organizations and personnel.
This puts Isaiah 58:12 in a unique position to offer recognized assistance to emergency responders and to physically and spiritually aid those in great need when a disaster strikes.
We encourage you to join us at our next CERT training or request to host a CERT at your local church. This is a great way to be prepared and to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need it most.
